The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services’ Office for Civil Rights is currently accepting applications for the position of Deputy Director for Civil Rights. We are looking for a highly qualified candidate to join our senior leadership team to lead the Department’s civil rights program.
The Deputy Director for Civil Rights oversees the portfolio of activities for OCR’s Civil Rights Division through administrative rule making and regulatory interpretation; civil rights enforcement activities, to include complaint investigations and the resulting settlements or resolution agreements, violation letters of findings, closure letters, or case referrals to other agencies; compliance reviews; technical assistance; policy development; stakeholder engagement and partnership development; public education efforts; media and public affairs; and assistance in developing OCR’s negotiation and litigation strategies.
